Internal Door Linings
Linings are designed to hang internal doors and are fitted once the interior door is installed. The door linings are built perfectly to stop the door flush to the frame.
To ensure that the timber structures, floors and walls are strong, we use noggins to provide a strong fixing that will be later fixed to a structure. Noggins (bridging or blocking) can also be used to straighten out wall studs and floor joists if needed.
Mid/Full-height bathroom boxing’s

Skirting to Mouldings
A moulding skirting board is a fantastic option to provide a smooth finish to the internal design of a building. Skirting boards run along the bottom of an internal wall and the design complements the interior of a home beautifully.

Exteriors – Decks and Gazebos
We know that picking out what you want in a deck can be tedious work, so we make it a little bit easier for you. Our team of Decking experts work with you and guide you every step of the process. If you can think it, we can build it.
Ashforth Carpentry brings you much more than a standard deck. We take the time to educate you on decking materials including treated wood, composite material, Azek, Trex, Ipe heartwood, Cumaru, pressure treated wood, PVC and more. This knowledge coupled with an ingenious design will make your home standout in your neighborhood and may earn you a place in your local Home Showcase like some of our clients.
Some cool things we’ve done:
- Built a deck around a 100-year-old tree
- Built a deck with an outdoor bar
- Built a deck with customized-one of a kind outdoor dining table
- Built decks with tailor-made benches
- Built decks with waterproof storage benches
- Built decks with buffet tables with shelves
Some of our decking options include:
- Standard Decks
- Covered Decks
- Decks with Gazebos
- Decks with Pergolas / Arbors
- Pergolas / Arbors
- Under Deck Options
- Low Voltage Lighting
- Deck Railing
- Deck Flooring
- Custom Steps
- Custom Benches
We’re installing lights on just about every deck we build. We want our customers to spend every possible moment out on their deck. We are happiest when our customers tell us they spend more time on their deck than they do in their living room.
We’re excited to hear how often our award-winning decks are used. Customers make a sizeable investment; and adding a gazebo increases your outdoor living time by protecting you from the elements. When it’s hot on the deck, move under the gazebo’s shade. Add a screen to shield against bugs and drizzle. 95% of our gazebos have screens added to them making this a functional space for dining, home offices, and parties. Outfit your gazebo with an electrical package. An electrical package allows you to have an overhead light, fan on a dimmer, or TV. This makes your space functional on muggy days.
Pergolas / Arbors
Think of a pergola as a cousin to the gazebo. The difference is, a pergola doesn’t have the full roof of a gazebo, and you can’t really enclose it with screens. It’s just for partial shade or looks. Pergolas are sometimes called arbors or trellises.
Steps for Your Deck
95 percent of the decks that we build have steps that integrate into your deck design. They either lead down to the backyard, out toward the driveway, down to another level or out to a pool. Ashforth Carpentry builds steps to adhere to building safety standards that perfectly compliment your new deck.
Deck benches are a great improvement. Our benches are usually made out of the same materials as the decking. They are all custom made to fit your deck. If you want a small 4′ long bench to fit in a corner or a 30′ long curved bench that runs all the way along the front of your deck or around an octagon, we can do it.
Privacy Walls on Decks
If you want to ensure your privacy or intimacy, think about adding a privacy fence. You can add it to any side. Privacy walls can be made out of the same material as the rails so that it matches, enhances privacy, and looks amazing. If your house is close to the neighbors, we can build a really sharp looking privacy screen that looks like it’s part of your deck, and not an afterthought. We can build a privacy fence a couple different ways. If your new deck will include a hot tub and you want privacy, put a wall around part (or all) of your hot tub. The wall ensures complete privacy if you are down in the hot tub taking a relaxing soak under the stars.
Under-deck Options (Drainage/Storage)
If you will have an open space between the ground and your deck, you may want to give some thought to deck skirting or lattice. We’re able to provide skirting and lattice and if your deck will be above ground that has different elevations, we can build your skirting to follow the contour of the ground. Skirting and lattice will also keep leaves and twigs from blowing underneath the deck where they are hard to reach. It also keeps baseballs, soccer balls, footballs and more from rolling under the deck.
Ashforth Carpentry always puts an access door in the lattice or skirting so that if you ever need to get in underneath deck it’s no problem. Often people also use the space underneath to store their ladder, garden hoses, and wheelbarrows. This puts them out of the way where you can’t see them.
If you like the size, style, and function of your existing deck, but are tired of staining or painting it then we can simply replace the flooring and the railing with a lower maintenance option. We call this process “redecking,” and we have become quite good at it over the years.
Send your pictures or drawings to us and we can give you an idea of how much your creation would run. Or if you just have the idea in your head, we’re pretty good at being “Deck Psychologists” and during your free no obligation consultations, we can help you get your idea down onto paper.
